How to claim

Unclaimed Money Act 1950

If you believe that you are the lawful owner of unclaimed money under the Unclaimed Money Act 1950, you can make a claim by -

  • Completing and lodging a pdf general claim form  131Kb (if you are claiming on behalf of a deceased person, please use a pdf deceased claim form 118Kb). Please use the checklist on the claim form to ensure accuracy and a prompt response.
  • Forwarding any supporting evidence held such as certificates, papers, dividend advices, superannuation policy reference etc.
  • Forwarding identification such as a certified copy of your drivers licence or passport.
  • Posting your claim to:

Agents Act 2003

If you believe that you are the lawful owner of unclaimed money under the Agents Act, you may apply to the Office of Regulatory Services (Fair Trading)under Section 125 of the Agents Act for a decision of entitlement.

Legal Profession Act 2006

If you believe that you are the lawful owner of unclaimed money under the Legal Profession Act, you may apply to the court under Section 259(3) of the Act for an order of entitlement or make a claim to the Public Trustee by -

  • Completing and lodging a pdf general claim form  131Kb (if you are claiming on behalf of a deceased person, please use a pdf deceased claim form 118Kb). Please use the checklist on the claim form to ensure accuracy and a prompt response.
  • Forwarding any supporting evidence held such as certificates, papers, dividend advices, superannuation policy reference etc.
